    About

Kaputaş Beach is a tiny jewel of the Turkish Lycian Coast — a narrow crescent of fine white sand squeezed between towering 150-meter limestone cliffs where a seasonal canyon stream meets the Mediterranean in an explosion of turquoise color. Just 150 meters wide, this pocket beach punches far above its size in beauty, with water that glows in impossibly vivid shades of turquoise and aquamarine. Access is via 187 steep steps carved into the cliffside from the road above — each step revealing an increasingly dramatic view.

The canyon behind the beach channels winter rainwater creating seasonal waterfalls, and the enclosed geography concentrates the water's color into an almost neon intensity. Located between the charming coastal towns of Kaş and Kalkan, Kaputaş has become Instagram-famous but retains its raw natural appeal since no permanent structures are permitted on the beach. The surrounding coastline is dotted with ancient Lycian rock tombs visible from the water.

"Took the kids (6 and 9) — shallow entry, no big waves, exactly what we needed. Renting two loungers was around €25 which felt steep but we did it anyway."
