"Honestly expected more given the hype. Anse Source d'Argent is beautiful but the main stretch gets packed by 11. We walked 20 min north and found a much quieter cove — that's where we stayed."

Anse Source d'Argent, on La Digue island, holds the title for most photographed beach in the Seychelles. Locals often argue it's the most beautiful beach anywhere. Age-old granite boulders, shaped by millennia of wind and surf, create surreal organic sculptures. These frame sections of powder-soft, pink-white sand. Turquoise water, warm and shallow, laps the shore.
An offshore reef protects the beach. This forms a calm, shallow lagoon, ideal for wading and snorkeling. To get there, you pass through L'Union Estate. This is a working coconut and vanilla plantation, complete with a colonial-era copra mill. Giant Aldabra tortoises freely roam the grounds. The granite formations offer natural caves and grottos. Light plays off the rock faces, changing colors through the day: golden at dawn, silver at noon, and rose as the sun sets. La Digue is car-free. Ox carts and bicycles are the main way to get around, preserving a timeless, almost dreamlike atmosphere.
