Sharm el-Sheikh

Perched on the southern tip of the Sinai Peninsula where the Gulf of Aqaba meets the Red Sea, Sharm el-Sheikh is the undisputed diving capital of the world. The legendary SS Thistlegorm shipwreck, a WWII British munitions ship sunk in 1941, lies perfectly preserved at 30 meters and is considered the world's best wreck dive.

Above water, Naama Bay is the vibrant heart of Sharm — a 1.5 km pedestrian promenade lined with restaurants, shisha cafés, and shops, coming alive with colorful lights each evening. The Straits of Tiran offer drift dives over four massive coral-encrusted reefs, while the nearby Blue Hole in Dahab (1 hour drive) is one of the world's most famous — and most challenging — freediving sites.
