「シップレック・ビーチ（難破船ビーチ）」としても知られるナヴァギオ・ビーチは、間違いなく地球上で最も写真に撮られているビーチの一つです。船でしかアクセスできないザキントス島の北西海岸にあるこの隔離された入り江は、眩しいほど白い砂浜から200メートルの高さにそびえる石灰岩の絶壁に囲まれています。中央には、1980年に座礁した密輸船パナギオティス号の錆びた船体が横たわり、世界で最もアイコニックなビーチの景観を作り出しています。ターコイズブルーの海は、白い石灰岩が透明なイオニア海を通して反射し、現実とは思えないほど鮮やかです。最高の眺めは絶壁の上にある展望台からで、青い海、白い崖、そして錆びた難破船のコントラストは、ギリシャの島の美しさを定義する象徴的な一枚となります。絶壁からのベースジャンピングは、エクストリームスポーツ界でも有名です。ビーチは西を向いているため、午後遅くの光が崖と難破船を最も劇的な黄金色に照らし出します。

"We've been to a lot of beaches across the Med and Navagio Shipwreck Beach sits comfortably in our top five. The sand is properly soft (not the gritty stuff you get further east), the water shelves gently for the first 30 metres, and the small reef at the headland makes for legitimately good snorkelling. Only minor gripe: the walk down from the parking is steep — fine going, less fun coming back up with kids and a cooler."
